Why Not?
October 3, 2024 | John Elliott
As some of you may recall, my first newsletter was on the topic of failure. There I reflected on my evolving relationship with risk, ultimately concluding I’d rather die with more “losses” on my record if it means I get to die with fewer regrets.
In that spirit, I’m announcing the launch of something new this fall – a “Life Well Led” podcast to accompany this newsletter.
In doing so, a number of questions pop into my head:
Will you like listening to it?
Will I like doing it?
Does the world really need another leadership podcast?
I don’t yet have clear answers to these questions, which is somewhat unsettling. But what I do know is that I love talking shop with leaders I admire, and if I’m truly fine dying with more losses but fewer regrets, there’s no reason not to try.
So here’s the game plan…
I’m going to launch a six-episode, interview-based pilot season exclusively to Life Well Led newsletter subscribers. Episodes will be released every two weeks – on the off weeks of the newsletter – starting Thursday, October 10.
You are under no obligation to listen. But for those who do, I’d love to hear what you think! I see Life Well Led as a community, so any help you’re willing to offer in shaping this new medium is warmly welcomed.
Your feedback to the newsletter the past six months has been humbling, encouraging, and incredibly helpful. So I’m hopeful you might choose to join me on this podcast journey, as well.
The first episode drops next week and features a conversation with Aruna Project founder and CEO Ryan Berg. He’s not only a fantastic leader, but also a good friend and trusted mentor, so I’m excited for you to hear what he has to share.
Carry on fellow travelers, we’ll talk soon.
